
Khoi (Thomas) Tran; Editor in Chief and Magazine Designer
Khoi is the editor in chief of Dimly Writ Literature Magazine and has established himself as a young nascent voice in contemporary literature, earning international recognition for both his poetry and editorial leadership. Khoi has reviewed more than 500 submissions, overseeing the curation of poetry, flash fiction, short stories, and artwork spanning four continents. Managing a diverse team of 60 members, he has shaped the magazine into both a publication and a community, further building a book discussion club at his school to cultivate dialogue around literature.
He is a 2025 Foyle Young Poets of the Year Commendation recipient (Top 85 out of 28,000), the most prestigious poetry writing competition for people under 18. He has also earned a High Commendation in the John Locke Essay Competition, the most prestigious essay competition worldwide (Top 3% out of 63,000+).
His writing has advanced to the final round of judging for the Adroit Prizes and won Write the World’s Poetry & Spoken Word Competition founded at Harvard University. As the author of Endemic and Native Fauna of Vietnam, Khoi wrote a bilingual children’s book on Vietnamese biodiversity published by Ha Noi Publishing House and distributed through Fahasa—Vietnam’s largest national bookstore chain. The book ranked among Fahasa’s Top 100 Natural Science titles and was featured on national television, reaching over 100,000 viewers. His co-authored poetry chapbook, Suspensions, distills a 30-poem dialogue on religion, existentialism, and Vietnamese culture. Beyond literature, Khoi is the Founder and President of My Egret’s Delivery Service, a humanitarian initiative democratising education and resources for ethnic minorities and underserved communities. His team of volunteers from 50+ countries has provided aid to over 5,000 people, built libraries, and supported Afghan teachers and students, earning multiple local awards and national media features.
Deeply engaged in science and public health, Khoi has worked with organisations affiliated with Harvard University, Stanford University, Columbia University, etc. At Harvard’s STRIPED, he serves as a Policy Translator and Legislative Outreach Director, advocating for bills on diet pill and supplement regulation. As a Fellow at the Harvard Undergraduate Microbiology Society, he contributes to a forthcoming children’s book titled 100 Experiments in Microbiology. Through Columbia University’s IYRC Medicine & Science Program and the ACComPLISHED Community Health Training Program, he has studied clinical correlates, narrative medicine, and family health education across Vietnamese and American communities.​ Khoi is passionate about theology, biology, poetry and prose.
Helen Anderson; Editor in Chief
Helen was previously the head of newspaper for the Inspire Youth Journal, and is also a staff reader for The Quiet Reader Magazine. She has also participated in competitions at the Saigon Literary Festival, winning first place in Chain Storytelling and second place in Impromptu Speech.
She also participates in extracurricular activities such as MUN, winning best delegate in the CISS Internal Conference and a verbal commendation in ILMUNC, a conference run by the University of Pennsylvania. Furthermore, she is in the process of writing a fantasy novel with Khoi.
On a school level, Helen actively participates in promoting the arts, being a former member of the Art Council and the Creative Writing Club. She has also won first place in the short story competition, and received awards for excellence in the subjects of French, Drama, Music, and Geography.


Briana Walton; Head of Content and Design
Briana is currently pursuing a Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) in Creative Writing at Harvard University Extension School and already obtained a Bachelors (BA) in Psychology at George Mason University. She is a Content Proofing and Communications Specialist at the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, managing content flowing out of PST-VCSCS. She is also a blog writer for AmericanDreamU, a national non-profit initiative created to help veterans transition from the military to a productive and meaningful civilian life.
Previously, Briana was an early childhood educator at Oak Grove Childcare Center II¸ and a writer and editor of George Mason University. She had also published her prose titled 'A Different Kind of Doctor' on Volition Arts and Literary Journal, and is a licensed QMHP-T (Virginia Department of Health Professions).
