Submissions | Dimly Writ

Submission Guidelines:

- We accept poetry, short stories, flash fiction, original art, and translations.

- All translated works must be submitted with permission from the original author.

- We only accept works in English, if you want to submit a poem or story that is in another language, a translation

must be provided.

- All work must be original and made by a human (NOT AI Generated).

- We accept simultaneous submissions, but no more than 3 short stories, 3 pieces of flash fiction, 5 artworks, or 5 poems

at a time.

- Flash fiction has a word limit of 1000, short stories have a 2500 word limit, and poems must be no longer than 50 lines.

- If a submitted work has already been published elsewhere or accepted for publishing during or after the

submission process, please let us know immediately.

We look for work that is original, creative, and thought-provoking. We want to see writers take risks, so don't try to play it safe. Send us what's meaningful to you, and what has edge, emotion, and truth.

Unfortunately, we are unable to pay writers for their stories, poems, or art, but as the submission process and final journal are both entirely free, and this magazine is not run for any profit, we believe that this is fair.

We have a review timeline of one month, if you do not hear a response from us after a month has passed, please send a follow-up email. When you submit, you will get a message back confirming your submission within three days. If you do not receive this message, then you can resubmit.

Any short stories or flash fiction pieces must have their own separate document. Poems and art can all be in the same document, but each poem or artwork must start on a new page.

Please Include the title of the piece within the document, as well as in the document name. For poems or art, you only have to include the title of the first poem or artwork in the document name, but all titles must be included inside the document before each piece.

To submit, email us at dimlywritlit@gmail.com with the subject line of the type of work you are submitting and the word "Submission". For example: "Poetry Submission". If you are submitting more than one type, you can write "Mixed Submission".
